Platter Psychological Services is a Hawai‘i-based psychotherapy practice dedicated to supporting children, adults, and families. From our Kailua-Kona clinic, we provide diagnostic assessments, evaluations, and therapy in person, and extend our services statewide via telehealth.


We specialize in treating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and life transitions. In addition, through our collaboration with Ho’okele ABA, we are uniquely positioned to support adults with autism andparents of children with autism, offering coordinated care in one location.

About Dr. Amanda Jeffrey Platter

Dr. Amanda Jeffrey Platter is the Clinical Director of Platter Psychological Services. She is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience across healthcare, education, and community mental health.


Dr. Platter earned her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Virginia Consortium Program in Clinical Psychology—an APA-accredited program jointly sponsored by The College of William & Mary, Eastern Virginia Medical School, Old Dominion University, and Norfolk State University.


Her expertise spans trauma-informed care, PTSD treatment, substance use, psychological assessment, and therapy for individuals, families, and veterans. She has worked in diverse settings, including the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente, and university counseling centers, and has supervised master’s-level clinicians while conducting advanced psychological testing.


In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Platter has published and presented on topics including substance abuse, trauma, psychopathy, and family dynamics. She has taught undergraduate and graduate psychology courses and also served abroad as an ESL instructor.
